Cowboys Fall In Ekalaka

The Culbertson Cowboys were defeated on the road by Ekalaka, 52-35, on Friday, Oct. 9.

The Cowboys jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the first quarter, but Ekalaka struck for 24 points in the second quarter for a 30-29 half-time advantage.

Ekalaka then outscored the Cowboys, 14-0, in the third quarter for a 44-29 lead.

After Culbertson struck first in the fourth period, the Bulldogs added a touchdown to move ahead 52-35.

The loss dropped Culbertson’s record to 4-2 for the season. The Cowboys are currently in third place for the conference. The top four teams in the league advance to the state playo_s.

Culbertson travels to Scobey on Friday, Oct. 16. The defending state champion Spartans are undefeated for the season.
