Scobey Runners Fare Well At Home Meet
The Scobey Spartans earned top honors in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions during their home invitational held on Thursday morning.
Scobey finished with 15 points followed by Terry with 20, Brockton with 22 and Culbertson with 35 points.
Apollo Kramer, a freshman, led the way for the Spartans with a time of 19:28 for third place.
Terry’s Sidney Murr was the overall winner at 18:32.5 while Circle’s Luke Voss was right behind at 18:36.5.
Also in the top 10 for Scobey were Carter Lekvold with a time of 20:59.9 for ninth place and Delbert Sones with a time of 21:11.2 for 10th place.
Also placing for the Spartans were Jack Williams at 23:18.3 for 20th place, Thor Lund at 23:31.7 for 21st place, Easton Fladager at 23:49.3 for 23rd place, Bryce Handran at 24:13.5 for 24th place and Lukas Lekvold at 32:08.0 for 42nd place.
In the girls’ division, the Spartans topped the field with 11 points while Culbertson placed second with 19 points.
Scobey’s eighth-grader Hailey Johnson finished in second place with a time of 24:36.1. Culbertson’s Anna Steppler was the overall winner at 23:33.2.
Scobey’s Esmeralda Sones placed fourth at 25:30.2 and Hazel Sones took fifth at 25:43.4. Merlina Kramer also made the top 10 with a time of 26:20.5 for 10th place.
Others placing for the Spartans were Evee Berryhill at 28:41.0 for 15th place and Ashtynn Fladager at 31:04.4 for 25th place,
