Red Hawks Battle To End Against Wibaux
The Froid-Lake Red Hawks gave Wibaux all it could handle Saturday, battling through four quarters before coming up just short in a 19-13 loss.
The Red Hawks came out ready to play and built a 13-6 lead by halftime, putting themselves in a good position heading into the second half.
Froid/Lake’s scores came on a 50-yard run and a 70yard kicko return by Eddie Orozco.
Wibaux wasn’t ready to go away, however. The Longhorns fought their way back after the break, scoring 13 unanswered points to take the lead and eventually secure the win.
Daxon Kahl powered the Longhorns, accounting for all three of the team’s touchdowns. He rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 24 yards and two scores.
Although the final score didn’t fall in their favor, the Red Hawks showed plenty of fight.
The Red Hawks will travel to Lambert on Friday, Sept. 4.
