Marilyn “Jeanne” Charette
Marilyn Jean “Jeanne” Charette, 75, of Poplar died Monday, Aug. 24, 2026.
She was born Oct. 30, 1950, to Allen and Esther (Walking Eagle) Spotted Bull. She was born and raised in Poplar, where she resided her entire life. She graduated from Poplar High School in 1968.
In May 1974, she married Duane “Fats” Charette.
She dedicated many years of her life to serving her community. She worked for Poplar Public Schools for 15 years, followed by 25 years with the Fort Peck Tribal Courts. After a long and fulfilling career, she retired and enjoyed the slower pace of retirement. She especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren, creating special memories and enjoying the time together.
She was a woman of quiet strength and grace. Reserved by nature, she was not one to seek the spotlight, but her presence was always noticed. She had a wonderful sense of style and took pride in looking her best, She was fashionable, elegant and always had her own way of putting things together. Her appearance reflected the care and individuality she carried throughout her life. She valued her privacy and enjoyed the simple comforts of life.
She is survived by her son, Quincy Charette of Poplar; daughter, Ona
