Timothy “Tim” Lowell Haynie, 67, died in Great Falls on Aug. 17, 2026.

He was born in Wolf Point to Marvin and Mabel (Putnam) Haynie on May 22, 1959, the first of 13 children. He attended grade school and high school in Circle, where he grew up working many acres alongside his father and brothers — and still found plenty of time to pester his sisters.

In 1981, he married Theresa Robinette. Together, they raised four children: Jonathan, Joshua, Stephanie and Jordan. With help from family and friends, he built the home where he and Theresa raised their children. It was a project that reflected his determination, hard work and love for his family.

He took great pride in watching his children participate in their many activities, including team roping, sports, 4-H, and school events. He and Theresa farmed and ranched, raising sheep, cattle, pigs and goats. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and random adventures like ziplining in Hawaii. He also enjoyed spending time with friends. He looked forward to his annual elk hunting trips and shooting pool with the guys.

He began his long battle with the effects of West Nile virus in Billings. He later spent several months in Lincoln, Neb., followed by seven years in Salt Lake City, Utah, before moving to Great Falls in June 2026. He fought hard and, even through the many challenges, he continued to make progress. He went from being completely dependent on a ventilator
