Area Athletes Place At State Games

Several area athletes fared well in track events during the Big Sky State Games during the weekend.

Wolf Point’s Sierra Summers finished first in the 5000-meter run with a time of 20:13.98 and second in the 200-meter dash at 34.15 seconds. She was the winner in the 400 with a time of 1:12.95, in the 800 with a time of 2:45.82 and in the 1500 at 5:34.94. She competed in the women’s 19-29 age division.

Peyton Summers earned first in the men’s 5000-meter run with a time of 15:49.45.

Fort Peck’s Zane Cotrell took first in the 400-meter dash for 12-13 year old boys with a time of 59.06 seconds. He earned first in the triple jump with a time of 32-6.

Wolf Point’s Darryl Ricker was the winner of the outdoor pentathlon for the 65-69 age division with victories in the 200, 1500, long jump, discus and javelin.

Ricker finished first in the 800 for men in the 65-69 age division with a time of 3:35.23, earned first in the 1500 at 7:45.11, took second in the 200 at 41.40 seconds and placed second in the 400 at 1:37.47.

Froid’s Roger Britton, 89, finished first in the 60-meter dash for his age group with a time of 16.64 seconds.
