Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 237 calls from July 6-13.
The calls included the following: July 6
Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice when a vehicle ran off the road on Sixth Avenue South in Wolf Point near the community hall. During a traffic stop, the adult male driver was unsteady on his feet. FPTDLJ handled the charges. The deputy notified the owner of the vehicle, who was the driver’s mother.
July 8
Deputies responded to the tribal adult jail where Rebecca Comes Last, 42, turned herself in on a Yellowstone County warrant. Her bond was $150,000 for theft and two misdemeanors.
July 9
Deputies received a report in Poplar’s city limits from an adult female who said her sister punched her in the face and that her sister was drunk. Deputies gave the victim a victim rights packet. The case was given to tribal prosecutors.
July 10
While patrolling the Wolf Point area, a deputy received a request for assistance from another deputy regarding a fight at Town Pump. Aurora Adams, 22, was charged with disorderly conduct and hindering law enforcement.
July 11
An elderly man in Poplar called to report that he was attacked inside his home. He suffered injuries when a female threw a rock through a window that hit him in the face. A neighbor said he heard glass breaking and then saw a male and female near the victim’s property. FPTDLJ charged Tyre Walking Eagle, 20, with criminal trespass, criminal mischief and hindering law enforcement. Drugs were also found during a search. The female wasn’t located.
A female reported that she was assaulted by a male at the carnival grounds in Wolf Point. The investigation is pending.
July 12
Deputies responded to a BIA road near Poplar where a female reported that an adult female pulled into her yard. The reporting party said the female was drunk and yelling. Law enforcement couldn’t locate the suspect.
July 13
An adult in Poplar tribal housing reported that another male had pulled a knife on him and made threats. Law enforcement couldn’t locate the suspect.
