Teams Score Well At Sidney Track Meet

Track athletes from Wolf Point and Poplar capped their regular season schedule with a meet in Sidney on Friday, May 8.

The Lady Wolves took sixth in the team standings with 41 points. Poplar tied for 11th with 10 points. Topping the standings was Miles City with 117 points.

In the boys’ division, Poplar scored 10 and Wolf Point had seven points. Glendive placed first with 103 points.

Adalynn Smith led the Lady Wolves at the meet. The sophomore finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.91. Smith earned second place in the 100 at 13.46 seconds.

Smith also took fourth in the 200 at 28.3 and fifth in the long jump at 15-9.

Anna Matejovsky cleared 9-6 in the pole vault to earn third-place honors.

Amya Martinez placed fourth in the discus with a season best mark of 106-8.

Layla Headdress finished fifth in the 3200 with a time of 14:23.37.

Wolf Point’s girls’ 400-meter relay team featuring Navella Weeks, Matejovsky, Harper Weeks and Smith finished third at 53.8 seconds.

In the boys’ division, Sean Hamilton earned fourth place in the shot put at 42-11 and fifth in the javelin at 148-7.

Reilly Rees ran the 1600 in a personal best time of 5:04.78 for sixth place.

Other Wolf Point athletes with personal bests in Sidney were Matejovsky in the 100-meter hurdles and shot put, Maci Fourstar-Sibley in the javelin and H. Weeks in the long jump.

Poplar’s Mila Gramling earned first-place honors in the 1600 with a time of 5:56.82.

Eljin Greybear finished second in the 3200 with a personal best time of 10:44.83 in the 3200.

Raylando Red Eagle placed fifth in the 1600 at 5:01.66.

Having personal bests for the Indians were Juanito Garfield in the 400, Wilder Bearcub in the 400, Memphis Mathison in the 400, Greybear in the 400 and 3200, Jayden Eder in the 400, Red Eagle in the 800, Issac Irizarry in the 800 and 1600, Dustin Smith in the 800, Mickey Failing in the 3200, Liberty Boadle in the 400, Gramling in the 400, Audrey Swallers in the 400 and Lilliana O’Neal in the shot put.

Brockton’s BraeLynn De-Marrias placed sixth in the 1600 at 6:23.05 and sixth in the 3200 at 15:18.13.

Having personal bests for the Warriors were Daniel Segubiense in the 800 and 3200, Olivia Erickson in the 800 and 1600, and DeMarrias in the 1600.
