Wrestlers Win Titles In Malta

Area wrestlers came away with top honors from the tournament in Malta on Saturday, Jan. 31. Wolf Point’s Jesse Reed earned first place at 150 pounds and was selected the outstanding wrestler in the boys’ division.

Also placing for the Wolves in the boys’ division were Colton Weyrauch in third at 144 pounds, Jeremiah Healy in third at 190 pounds and Kayeiko Villaluz in fourth at 110 pounds.

Leading Poplar’s boys were third-place efforts by Jayden Eder at 175 and Mickey Failing at 126.

Memphis Mathison took fourth at 118 and Rollen Spotted Bull placed fourth at 285.

Poplar placed second and Wolf Point took fourth in the team standings for the girls’ division.

Earning titles for the Wolves were Cali Gorder at 100 pounds and Paisley Brunner at 130 pounds. Gorder was named the outstanding female wrestler at the meet.

Lakealah Mays placed fourth at 105 pounds.

Poplar’s Alara Cooper earned first at 115 pounds.

Placing second were Kiaree White Hawk at 105 and Liberty Boadle at 125 pounds.

Masina Youpee took third at 145 pounds.
