Poplar Girls Edge Harlem In Conference Contest
Poplar’s girls’ basketball team put together a strong second-half effort to beat Harlem, 55-40, in Poplar on Friday, Jan. 23.
The Indians led by only a 30-28 half-time margin, but a basket by Braelyn Nordwick off a pass from Cammie Martell helped Poplar increase the gap to 37-32 during the third quarter.
A hoop by Blake Follette put the Indians ahead 43-33 at the end of the period.
With the score at 45-35, Poplar pulled away with a three-pointer by Ashlyn Bull Chief, a layup by Martell and a three-pointer by Saydee Archambeault.
Martell hit a 15-footer to put the score at 55-40 with 1:51 remaining.
