Lions Outscore Poplar, 86-51
Lustre’s boys’ basketball team looked sharp in an 86-51 home victory over Poplar on Saturday, Jan. 24.
The scoring of Joel Reddig highlighted play as the Lions ran off to a 12-4 lead to start the game.
Prestyn Klatt accounted for a four-point play and Cam Reddig scored on a drive to put Lustre ahead 21-12 at the end of the period.
The Lions extended their lead to 29-14 on five points by J. Reddig and a three-pointer by Johnslee Pierre early in the second quarter.
Poplar fought back on baskets by Ryder Olson and Chasen Pribbernow, but Lustre responded with the next nine points on a three-point play by C. Reddig, three points by Hadden Olfert and a three-pointer by J. Reddig for a 38-18 advantage.
The Indians gained momentum on the shooting of Wilder Bearcub, but Lustre led 48-28 at the half.
Baskets by Chasen Pribbernow and Chance Pribbernow pulled Poplar to within 14 points during the third quarter. The Lions struck right back on three-pointers by Diek Olfert and C. Reddig.
The Lions enjoyed a 72-45 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
Leading Lustre’s attack were J. Reddig with 26 and C. Reddig with 20 points.
Also scoring were Klatt with 14, Chris Traeholt with 10, D. Olfert with eight, H. Olfert with five and Pierre with three.
Top scorers for Poplar were Chance Pribbernow with 15, Dane Moran with 12 and Bearcub with 12.
Rounding out the scoring were Chasen Pribbernow with six, Colton Dupree with four and Olson with two.
