Bulldogs Lose Against Fusion
Bainville’s girls’ basketball squad came out on the short end of a 21-19 defensive battle against the Richey/Lambert Fusion on Friday, Jan. 9.
The Bulldogs led 8-6 at the half, but the Fusion gained a 14-13 lead in the third quarter.
A free throw by Brynne Hill gave the Fusion a 19-17 lead with 3:01 remaining in the District 2C contest.
The Bulldogs pulled even when Hailey Berwick hit two free throws with 2:43 left in the game.
A 14-footer shot by Tayen Carda put Richey/Lambert ahead 21-19 at the 1:19 mark.
The Bulldogs missed on two three-point attempts in the game’s final eight seconds.
Top scorers for Bainville were Berwick with seven and Addison Hansen with six points.
Leading the Fusion were Jolee Klempel with 10 and Brylie Huft with six points.
