Elks Lodge Provides Items To Area Veterans
Veterans who reside at Faith Home in Wolf Point received surprised gifts thanks to the Wolf Point Elks Lodge #1764.
The many items that six veterans received included socks, sweats, underwear, shoes and blankets.
Deb Madison of the Wolf Point Elks Lodge explained funds for the gifts came through the national Elks organization’s Freedom Grants.
In 2025-26, the Elks National Veterans Service Commission is awarding $1,000 Freedom Grants to 1,000 lodges for qualifying projects. Officials are excited that so many lodges have access to grant funds specifically to serve our nation’s veterans and/or active-duty military members in need.
Freedom Grant projects must serve veterans and/or military members in need of support or services. Projects must focus on one of these five areas: employment, homelessness and housing, current military members and their families, health and educational support.
