Senior Profile Campbell Shines At Wolf Point High School


Wolf Point High School student Richard Campbell is one of the leaders for the senior class whether it’s on the athletic field or other situations.
He is a member of the National Honor Society and a class representative for student council.
In sports, he is a quality player for both Wolf Point’s basketball and football squads. Although he enjoys playing both sports, his favorite one is basketball.
“I feel more involved because it’s less players,” Campbell said of basketball. “I like playing in the gym with the crowd.”
A highlight for him and all Wolf Point fans last basketball season came when he hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for a 60-58 overtime victory over Harlem. Campbell made six three-pointers in the conference contest.
“It was a close game, Cole (Hanks) called a time-out and drew up a play,” Campbell remembers. “It was just a moment. Next thing I knew, everybody was jumping on me.”
Goals for Campbell heading into this basketball season is to advance beyond the district tournament.
“I would like us to win a plaque with my name on it,” he said.
During football season, Campbell plays center for the Wolves. He is pleased with how the season is going and hopes the Wolves can qualify for the playoffs.
The team’s running attack has been a highlight this season.
“The line plays a big role in the rushing offense,” Campbell said.
The senior, along with some friends, are planning to play for the golf team this coming spring.
“I’m a beginner, but I like golf,” Campbell said.
In the classroom, his favorite subject is child development.
“It helps the most preparing you for the adult life,” Campbell said.
His favorite teacher is Anthony Red Cloud. After his high school days, Campbell plans to attend Flathead Community College in Kalispell and major in marketing. He hopes to become a sales manager.
