According to court documents, the Williams County Sheriff’s Office of North Dakota reported to Roosevelt County a possible person with a warrant traveling through Roosevelt County from North Dakota on Sept. 2.

A deputy noticed the vehicle passing through Culbertson at 9:25 p.m. with two occupants. During the traffic stop, the female passenger refused to identify herself but matched the physical description of Brown including having several unique tattoos. She had a warrant for her arrest. She was placed in handcuffs, but she still refused to talk to the deputy.

The driver told officers that the passenger was Payton Brown.

Upon arrival at the Roosevelt County Detention Center in Wolf Point, the deputy turned custody of her property over to detention staff. During a search of her purse and bag, a deputy found an orange unlabeled pill bottle containing Xanax. There were 50 pills counted.

According to court documents, the Montana Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Sept. 10. Firemoon was the passenger and had an active warrant from the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office.

After a deputy placed Firemoon in handcuffs and walked him to the front of his patrol vehicle, the deputy told him he would perform a search incident to arrest.

In Firemoon’s pockets were a meth pipe, which tested presumptive positive for meth.
