Commissioners Approve Bid For Shotgun Creek Bridge Project
Roosevelt County commissioners approved the bid from Bishop Inc., for the Shotgun Creek Bridge, Bridge 1010, replacement project during their weekly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
The bid from Bishop was $496,780. There were five total bids received. The second lowest bid was $501,362 from Thompson Contracting.
John Bach of Interstate Engineering said the county has worked with Bishop on other successful projects in the past.
The funds for the project come through Senate Bill 536 to improve bridges throughout the state.
Commissioners approved the two-year contract agreement for the sheriff’s office. The agreement includes a $1 raise for the next two years along with providing full health insurance.
Reappointed to the Council on Aging were Judy Romo and James Harvey. Department of Aging employee Carol Rasmussen resigned, effective Nov. 30.
New hires are Adam Wienberger for the sheriff’s office and Kristi BigLeggins for Aging Services.
Pay raises were approved for dispatch employee Delano Eymard, library employee Amy Heller, Justice Court Culbertson employee Penni Benkler and sheriff’s office employer Centennial “CJ” Colon.
During commissioners’ reports, Commissioner Doug Marottek mentioned adding shielding in front of the district judge’s bench.
Commissioner Robert Toavs said the road department has been researching ways to elevate the road by the Columbia Grain elevator.
