Commissioners Cover New Hired Employees

The Roosevelt County Commissioners approved a slate of hires during their meeting Tuesday, July 1.

Among the hires were temporary seasonal employees Darrell Synan in the Bainville area, Charles Pribbernow in the Poplar area and Roger Chamber in the McCabe area for mowing.

Commissioner Robert Toavs explained mowing will be conducted earlier than normal to hopefully have less fire danger. The road department is still short a couple of full-time employees.

Other individuals hired were John Plestina as the Wolf Point Area Museum’s assistant curator, Kalia Featherston as a temporary administrative assistant for the Extension office and Mary Hauso as custodian for the county building in Culbertson.

During commissioner’s updates, Toavs said he has been checking on roads including bridge/culvert project on County Road 1019.

Commissioner Gordon Oelkers said he and administrative assistant Samantha Goodman completed the life AED training at the hospital.
