Fleming Wins State Rodeo Championship
Mesa Fleming of Broadus is the state champion barrel racer for 2005. She is the granddaughter of Clint and Arlyss Long of Wolf Point and the daughter of Jesse and Ashley Fleming, former Wolf Point residents.
Fleming scored the year end points for the state of Montana in the Montana Junior High Rodeo Association. She topped the field of 50 competitors statewide with 195 points. The second-place finisher had 180 points.
Fleming advanced to the National Junior High Finals Rodeo, which is June 22-28 in Des Moines, Iowa.
