Yellow Jackets Score League Win Over Culbertson Squad


The Wolf Point Yellow jackets downed Culbertson during girls softball play in Wolf Point on Tuesday, June 17.
A big second inning lifted Wolf Point to an 11-1 advantage. A highlight of the frame was McKinlee Paulson connecting for a triple to bring home two runners. A two-run double by Serenity Wilbanks helped Culbertson pulled closer during the top of the third inning.
The game was called in the bottom of the third due to a thunderstorm with Wolf Point ahead by an 18-6 margin.
In the minor league game, Culbertson earned an eightrun victory over Wolf Point.
Top hitters for Wolf Point’s older team this season include Ma’Kenzie Jackson with a .682 batting average, Makenzie Rodenberg with a .667 batting average and Afton Hanks with a .600 batting average.
Jackson leads the team with 19 runs scored. Marley Moran and Vanessa Fourstar scored 15 times each.
Rodenberg scored 13 times and Kira Rush crossed the plate a total of 12 times.
Moran and Jackson have each knocked in 13 runners. Hanks has eighth runs batted in.
Mattie Azure and McKinlee Paulson have seven runs batted in each.
The victory improves Wolf Point’s record to 4-4-1.
