Wolves Advance During District 2B Track Meet


The Wolf Point Wolves had athletes qualify for the divisional meet during district track action in Glasgow on Saturday. The Wolves finished with 55 points in the girls’ division for fifth place and 14 points in the boys’ division for sixth place.
Topping the girls’ team standings were Glasgow with 143 points, Fairview with 130 and Malta with 101. Top boys’ teams were Glasgow with 191 points, Fairview with 101 and Malta with 95.
Sean Hamilton accounted for all 14 of the points for Wolf Point’s boys. The junior earned top honors in the javelin with a personal best of 150-10 and fourth in the discus with a personal best of 134-8.
Other athletes with personal bests for Wolf Point’s boys were Sean Forrest in the 100, shot put and discus and Reilly Rees in the 1600.
In the girls’ division, Anna-Leigh Matejovsky cleared a personal best of 9-6 for second place in the pole vault, placed fourth in the triple jump at 30-9 and sixth in the long jump at 14-8.
Amya Martinez earned third in the shot put with a personal best of 33-4 and sixth in the discus with a mark of 90-2.
Adalynn Smith finished third in the 400 at 1:03.23 and fourth in the 100 at 13.87.
Navella Weeks placed third in the 200 with a personal best time of 28.27 seconds.
Harper Weeks took fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at 58.84 seconds.
Kaleigha Laverdure placed sixth in the javelin with a personal best of 78-6.
Both of Wolf Point’s girls’ relay teams finished in second place. The 400-meter relay team consisting of N. Weeks, Matejovsky, H. Weeks and Smith posted a time of 52.45 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team of N. Weeks, Amirah Oleyte, H. Weeks and Smith had a time of 4:23.18.
Other personal bests for Wolf Point’s girls were Ma’Kenzie Jackson in the shot put, Marley Moran in the shot put and Cadence Bouldin in the 3200.
