Board Of Education Revokes Former Scobey Teacher’s License
According to media reports, the Montana Board of Public Education has unanimously revoked the teaching license of former Scobey teacher Lucas Knight.
Knight was accused of multiple inappropriate interactions with students including entering the girls’ locker room while female students were present, making sexually explicit jokes, commenting on a student’s genital size and telling female students to do yoga poses in front of the class.
The Scobey School Board placed Knight on administrative leave on November 2025 after complaints were made regarding improper comments in front of students. Knight submitted a letter of resignation to the school board on Feb. 11, 2026, and the board accepted his resignation at its March 10 meeting.
Knight was given the opportunity to surrender his teaching license in May. After he didn’t respond, the Office of Public Instruction filed a recommendation with the state board to revoke Knight’s license.
