Runners Place At Wolf Point Meet

The Culbertson/Bainville cross country team captured top honors in the girls’ division at the season-opening Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 28.

Culbertson/Bainville had 32 points while Scobey was second with 33 points.

Two runners earned top 10 honors for the squad. Sophomore Anna Steppler finished second with a time of 24:13.8 and freshman Jaclynne Taberna earned fourth at 24:54.7.

Aubrey Lee, a freshman, took 11th place with a time of 26:39.1. Ella Anderson finished 20th at 28:54.2.

Rebekah Ellerkamp placed 27th at 30:12.5.

In the boys’ division, Culbertson/ Bainville took third with 67 points behind Wolf Point with 26 points and Scobey was second with 50 points.

Senior Cal Steppler finished in sixth place with a time of 19:46.6.

Glas Gunner took 17th at 21:07.7. Trust Magwaba finished 23rd at 22:43.2.

Soren Batt was 31st at 24:35.0. Logan Telck took 37th at 24:49.9. Tyler White Cloud was 40th at 26:10.5. Colton Glas took 49th at 28:23.8.

Froid/Lake

Bryce Murray, a freshman, led Froid/Lake’s boys team with a time of 21:03.7 for 16th place.

Colby Parenteau was 42nd at 26:17.2.

In the girls’ division, Leah Murray ran the course in 33:20.1 for 39th place.

Teams will compete in Poplar on Friday, Sept. 4.
