Assessment Checklist Ike’s Pond Bluegill Stocking

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is proposing to stock bluegill from Miles City Fish Hatchery into Ike’s Pond in Culbertson. Ike’s Fishing Pond is a community pond utilized primarily by children and young adults for recreational angling. Ike’s Fishing Pond is located on property owned by the city of Culbertson. The fisheries resources present are managed by FWP fisheries staff.

This waterbody has been stocked annually with catchable rainbow trout since 2021, and with yellow perch in 2023 and 2026. The proposed project would increase angling opportunity by diversifying fish species available to anglers at Ike’s Fishing Pond. The proposed project would take place in fall 2026.

Public comment will be accepted from July 23 through Aug. 6.
