Wolf Point Athletes Getting Ready In Weight Room For Seasons
In order to give their best performances, Wolf Point athletes are spending a good amount time in the high school’s weight room this summer.
“It’s very important for athletes and non-athletes,” Wolf Point’s football coach Anthony Red Cloud said of attending weight training. “Lifting is a year-long activity.”
Red Cloud says weight lifting is important for the athletes for improving speed and athleticism.
The training for high school and middle school students is conducted Monday through Thursday at three different times.
The schedule includes 7-9 a.m., 3-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.
The mid-afternoon session mainly features female athletes. Boys’ basketball players usually go to the early evening session and then head to the gym for scrimmages.
Red Cloud says about 15-20 students attend daily.
In addition, the Wolves’ football players recently attended a team camp at Dickinson State University.
“It went well. All of the boys got good reps,” Red Cloud said. “The boys learned a lot. The kids like going to it.”
