Yellowjackets Drop Softball Contest Against Scobey Squad

Playing with a short-handed squad, Wolf Point’s Yellowjackets fell at home against Scobey by a 9-3 margin in softball action on Tuesday, June 9.

The Yellowjackets lost starting pitcher Marley Moran due to an injury in the first inning. Riley Schwarzrock stepped up and did a fine job in the pitching circle for Wolf Point the rest of the contest.

Wolf Point trailed by a 3-0 margin entering the bottom of the third, but the Yellowjackets got their offensive attack going in the frame. Anna Matejovsky opened the inning with a walk, stole second and came around on errors to cut the margin to 3-1.

After a single and stolen base by Ma’Kenzie Jackson, she came home on a hit by McKinlee Paulson to close the gap to 3-2.

Scobey was able to increase its lead to 6-2 in the top of the fourth inning.

Scobey added three more runs in the top of the fifth for a 9-2 advantage.

Jackson singled and scored again for Wolf Point in the bottom of the fifth for the 9-3 final.
