School Officials Expect Quiet Summer Of Planning
As Nicole Simonsen completes her third year as the Culbertson superintendent of schools, she expects a fairly quiet summer for the school district.
Sta_ openings include two elementary positions and a K-12 art teacher. If the elementary positions aren’t filled, two classrooms would have the double amount of students.
“We’re OK going to single grade levels until we find the right person for our team,” Simonsen said if the current sta_ figure doesn’t increase.
During this summer, school, o ials will plan for the upcoming year and try to build the team if the right candidate is available. No building projects are planned.
She added the school district’s number remains steady at 275 students for K-12. The smallest class is 10 for the incoming juniors.
The recent graduating class consisted of a large amount of 27 seniors. “That was a big class leaving us,” Simonsen said.
She is thankful to everyone who made the past school year a success.
“I’m thrilled with the team that we’re building and growing the success of students,” Simonsen said. “I really feel blessed to have a great sta_.”
