Wolf Point’s Kent Earns Title At Divisional Golf Meet
Maia Kent, a freshman, came through with a spectacular round to win the Northern B girls’ golf championship held at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Tuesday, May 12.
Kent finished with a score of 88 to earn the championship. Shelby’s Rowen Russell was right behind with an 89 for second place.
Wolf Point’s McKinlee Paulson, also a freshman, also qualified for the state meet by tying for 13th place with a 106.
Poplar’s Frankie Crawford earned a state berth by shooting a 102 for ninth place.
Other scores for the Indians were Masina Youpee with a 121 for 32nd place and Bree Brown with a 127 for 41st place.
Fairfield’s Ayden DeBruuycker placed third with a 92, Plentywood’s Alonna Lindblom was fourth at 93 and Malta’s Kylie Bishop took fifth with a 94.
Shelby won the team title with a 401 followed by Glasgow at 419 and Fort Benton at 425.
