Red Hawks Place At 2C Meet
The Froid/Lake Red Hawks scored 46 points in the boys’ division and 37 points in the girls’ division during the District 2C track meet in Lambert on Tuesday, May 12.
Earning first-place honors were Rylan Young with a personal best of 19-1 in the long jump and Lane Bakken in the 3200 with a time of 11:29.35.
Bakken added a second-place finish in the 1600 at 4:59.52.
Both of Froid/Lake’s boys’ relay teams placed third. The 400-meter relay team featuring Young, Owen Logan, Bryce Murray and Cody Olson had a time of 50.14 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Young, Bakken, Olson and Murray posted a time of 3:59.41.
Murray placed fourth in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:19.36.
Eli James took fifth in the discus with a personal best of 97-1.
In the girls’ division, eighth-grader Atley Jensen led the way by placing second in the 800 at 2:45.08 and second in the 1600 at 6:00.26.
Jordyn Breuer finished third in the 1600 with a time of 6:41.65.
Keira Stentoft placed fifth in the 100 at 14.33 seconds and sixth in the 200 at 30.8 seconds.
Both the girls’ relay teams earned third place. The 400-meter relay team of Leah Murray, Jensen, Breuer and Stentoft had a time of 59.08 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team featuring Murray, Jensen, Breuer and Stentoft ran the 1600 in 5:03.11.
