Wolf Point’s girls came through with many personal bests to earn the third-place trophy at the District 2B track meet held in Fairview on Saturday, May 16.

The Lady Wolves struck for 82 points at the meet. The top two teams were Malta with 132 points and Glasgow with 131 points.

Adalynn Smith placed in five events for the Wolves including winning the district title in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.8. It was only the second that Smith competed in the 800.

Smith said the 800 is becoming one of her favorite events. “It’s coming close to the 400, but it’s not there yet,” she explained.

The sophomore also placed second in the 400 at 1:01.00, second in the 100 at 13.25, third in the 200 at 27.18 and fourth in the long jump at 15-0.

Anna Matejovsky cleared 10-6 in the pole vault to earn first place and tie the District 2B record. Her previous best was 9-6.

“It felt good,” the freshman said. “And it wasn’t windy today.”

Matejovsky also placed fourth in the 100 with a time of 13.46 seconds.

Amya Martinez earned third in the shot put with a season best of 33-10. The senior stood in sixth place until her final throw in the event.

“I took a deep breath and calmed myself down,” Martinez said.

Martinez placed fourth in the discus with a mark of 99-11.

Layla Headdress, a freshman, finished fourth in the 1600 at 6:09.82 and fifth in the 800 at 2:43.13.

Navella Weeks finished fifth in the 400 with a personal best time of 1:05.56.

In the pole vault, Teagan Williams cleared 7-6 for fourth place and N. Weeks cleared 6-0 for sixth place.

Maci Fourstar-Sibley had a mark of 91-6 for sixth place in the javelin.

The 400-meter relay team featuring N. Weeks, Matejovsky, Harper Weeks and Fourstar-Sibley finished third with a time of 54.62 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team of N. Weeks, H. Weeks, Williams and Fourstar-Sibley placed fifth at 5:02.30.

Wolf Point’s boys scored 39 points for sixth place at the meet. Glasgow won the district championship with 156 points.

Wolf Point’s Sean Hamilton earned third in the discus with a personal best of 140-8, fourth in the shot put at 43-6 and fourth in the javelin at 146-7.

Kayden Charette cleared 5-6 for third place in the high jump. The sophomore placed fifth in the long jump at 17-10 and sixth in the triple jump at 38-2.

Damari Martinez finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at 19.28 seconds and fifth in the high jump by clearing 5-6.

Tavian Bell cleared 9-0 to earn fourth place in the pole vault.

The 400-meter relay team featuring Bell, Charette, Hamilton and Kayeiko Villaluz finished third with a time of 48.76 seconds.

The divisional meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Glasgow.
