Lustre Boys Take Second During Lambert Meet
With four overall first-place showings, Lustre Christian earned second place in the boys’ team standings and seventh in the girls’ standings during the Richey/Lambert Invitational held in Lambert on Friday, April 10.
The Lions accounted for 83.5 points in the boys’ division. Glasgow topped the field with 107 points.
Lustre’s girls scored 30 points. Richey/Lambert was first with 74 points.
Johnslee Pierre finished first in the 400-meter dash at 51.68 seconds and first in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.11 seconds. The senior placed second in the long jump at 21-8.
Jaycee Hilkemann earned second in the 1600 at 4:52.60 and second in the 3200 at 10:32.51.
Prestyn Klatt finished second in the 800 at 2:12.98 and third in the 3200 at 10:35.46. He cleared 5-4 for fifth in the high jump.
Diek Olfert placed third in the long jump at 19-6 and sixth in the triple jump at 370.
Chris Traeholt took sixth in the 800 at 2:17.10.
Both of Lustre’s boys’ relay teams finished second. The 400-meter relay team featuring Olfert, Cam Reddig, KJ Brown and Pierre took second at 45.68. The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Reddig, Olfert, Traeholt and Hilkemann placed second at 3:49.37.
Kencia Brown led Lustre’s girls with a first-place effort in the javelin at 111-10.
Lustre’s girls’ 1600-meter relay team of Brown, Lauryn Holzrichter, Samantha Neufeld and Justice Byers finished first at 4:38.25.
The 400-meter relay team featuring Neufeld, Holzrichter, Byers and Brown took fourth at 56.12 seconds.
Neufeld finished third in the 800 with a time of 2:39.41. Taking seventh at the meet were Neufeld in the 400 and Holzrichter in the 100-meter hurdles.
