Athletes Place At Indoor Track Meet

Track athletes from Culbertson, Froid/Lake and Bainville were among the competitors during the Scobey/ Glasgow indoor meet held in Williston, N.D., on Thursday, April 2.

Culbertson placed fifth in the team standings with 32 points. The Cowgirls scored four points for 16th place.

Culbertson’s junior Brooks Solem cleared 6-2 for top honors in the high jump. Solem placed third in the shot put with a best of 39-11.

Trust Magwaba finished second in the 60-meter dash at 7.62 seconds. The freshman was seventh in the 200 at 25.48 seconds.

Culbertson’s boys’ 800-meter relay team consisting of Harrison Green, Cord Snyder, Mauricio Mena and Magwaba finished second at 1:43.78.

Green took eighth in the 400 with a time of 57.33 seconds.

In the girls’ division, Emilynn Powell cleared 4-6 for fourth place in the high jump.

Stella Fox was ninth in the 1600 at 7:14.01.

Froid/Lake’s boys scored six points and the girls had one point at the meet.

Lane Bakken of Froid/Lake finished in third place with a time of 5:05.20 in the 1600.

Atley Jensen finished sixth in the 1600 with a time of 6:09.28. She was eighth in the 800 at 2:49.56.

Bainville’s boys finished with 10 points for 13th place.

Kaiden Holmes ran the 400 in a time of 55.08 seconds for second place. The senior took fifth in the 200 at 25.44 seconds.

The teams will compete at the Richey/Lambert Invitational in Lambert on Friday, April 10.
