Lustre’s girls’ basketball team placed fourth at the District 3C tournament in Glasgow. The Lions fell to North Country, 56-26, on Saturday in the third-place game.

North Country jumped out to an 18-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 24-7 halftime advantage.

The Mavericks increased the margin to 43-12 in the third quarter.

Kencia Brown led the Lions with 10 points. Lauryn Holzrichter and Harlo Reddig added five points each. Samantha Neufeld, Justice Byers and Lauren Fast each scored two points.

Top scorers for North Country were BaiLee McColly with 18 and CharLee Mc-Colly with 12 points.

Circle edged Scobey, 43-42, in the district championship game.

Lustre’s girls’ basketball team lost to top-seeded Circle, 63-31, in the semi-final round of the District 3C tournament on Thursday, Feb. 19.

Circle gained a 19-10 lead in the first quarter and held a 39-11 half-time cushion.

Kencia Brown finished as Lustre’s top scorer with 18 points.

Lauren Fast added six points. Harlo Reddig, Sidney Klatt and Hannah Brown had two points each. Samantha Neufield scored one point.

Leading the Wildcats were Madeline Moline with 17, Charlie Moline with 14, Kate Nasner with 14 and Allie Kountz with 13 points.
