Cowboys Down Red Hawks In First Round

The Culbertson Cowboys started District 2C tournament play with a 54-35 win over Froid/Lake in Sidney on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

After leading by a 17-15 halftime margin, the Cowboys broke away with 23 points in the third quarter for a 4025 lead. Culbertson added 14 more points in the fourth period for the opening-round victory.

Brooks Solem led the Cowboys by accounting for 35 points in the contest.

Ian Snyder finished with eight points.

Also scoring for Culbertson were Mauricio Mena with four, Cord Snyder with four and Kaden Featherston with three.

Solem finished with 10 rebounds for the Cowboys.

Cal Steppler had five assists.

Scoring for the Red Hawks were Eddie Orozco with seven, Rylan Young with six, Carson Kelm with six, Carson Asheim with five, Easton Marottek with three, Teegan Fossum with two, Aaron Orozco with two and Jacob Nordlund with one.
