Lustre’s boys’ basketball team kept its strong season going with a 68-17 home win over Froid/Lake on Saturday, Jan. 31.

The Lions outscored Froid/Lake by a 20-0 margin in the first quarter. Leading Lustre’s attack in the period were Johnslee Pierre with six points, Cam Reddig with four points and Hadden Olfert with four points.

A layup by Joel Reddig and a steal and drive by Prestyn Klatt put Lustre ahead by a 24-0 margin.

Froid/Lake’s first score came on a three-pointer by Carson Aasheim with 5:52 left in the second quarter.

Lustre tallied the last six points of the half on a free throw by Diek Olfert, a drive by Wheeler Damboise and a three-pointer by Chris Traeholt for a 43-9 half-time advantage.

Lustre held a 61-15 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Top scorers for the Lions were Traeholt with 15, Klatt with 11 and C. Reddig with 10.

Also scoring were J. Reddig with nine, H. Olfert with nine, Pierre with six, D. Olfert with three and Damboise with two.

Leading the Red Hawks were Eddie Orozco with six and Aasheim with five points.

Adding two points each were Jake Nordlund, Teegan Fossum and Easton Marottek.
