Cowboys Score Win Over Red Hawks

The Culbertson Cowboys pulled away in the second half to down Froid/Lake, 4524, on Friday, Jan. 30.

After a 7-7 deadlock at the end of the first quarter, Culbertson took a 16-11 advantage in the second period. Brooks Solem hit a three-pointer for Culbertson in the period.

The Cowboys then tallied 12 points in the third quarter for a 28-18 advantage. Solem accounted for eight of Culbertson’s points in the period.

Culbertson outscored the Red Hawks, 17-6, in the fourth period. Ian Snyder and Cal Steppler each connected on three-pointers in the period.

Solem finished with 20 points to lead the Cowboys. Snyder added 11 points.

Also scoring were Steppler with seven, Cord Snyder with five and Mauricio Mena with two points.

Top scorers for the Red Hawks were Eddie Orozco with eight and Rylan Young with seven.

Also scoring were Carsen Aasheim with three, Carsen Kelm with two, Easton Marottek with two and Jake Nordlund with two.

The Cowboys will host Brockton on Thursday, Feb. 5, and play at MonDak on Friday, Feb. 6.
