Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team couldn’t get its offensive attack going and lost at home to Fairview, 45-32, on Friday, Jan. 23.

The Wolves were able to take an early lead on a three-pointer by Amya Martinez, but Fairview went on to grab a 9-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Fairview accounted for the first nine points of the second quarter for an 18-7 advantage.

The Wolves ended the half on a high note when steals by Cadence Bouldin led to a pair of baskets by Maci Fourstar to close the gap to 18-11 at the half.

Fairview opened the third quarter with a three-pointer by Sophia Sundheim and a basket by Macy Tjelde off a pass from Gracelynn Free.

Drives by Fourstar closed the margin to 23-15, but the Warriors tallied the next five points.

Despite baskets by Sophia Ricker near the end of the quarter, Fairview held a 35-20 lead to end the period.

The scoring of Fourstar closed the gap to 37-26, but the Warriors responded with the next seven points including five by Free.

Fourstar led the Wolves with 15 points. Also scoring were Jorilynn Black Eagle with six, Ricker with five, Martinez with three, Marley Moran with two and Mattie Azure with one.

Fairview’s top scorers were Sundheim with 13, Tjelde with 10 and Free with eight.

The Lady Wolves will host Scobey for a non-conference game on Friday, Jan. 30.
