Brockton Girls Edge Thunder

Brockton’s girls’ basketball team came from behind to edge MonDak, 56-54, on the road on Thursday, Dec. 17.

The Warriors trailed 41-37 at the end of the third quarter and by a 51-46 margin with three minutes remaining in the District 2C contest.

Tamryn Bauer tied the game with two free throws and a three-point play.

Bauer then hit a pair of free tosses with 44 seconds left for a 53-51 advantage.

After MonDak regained the lead, 54-53, on a three-pointer with 21 seconds remaining, Brockton’s Quintana Young fired in a three-pointer with five seconds left to give Brockton the victory.

Top scorers for the Warriors were Bauer with 26 and Young with 21 points.

Also scoring were Taylor Cummins with three, Marlene Fish with three, Tatawna Big Eagle with two and Reese DeCoteau with one.
