School Board Approves Hires, Stipends

The Culbertson School Board met in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 6:30 p.m. Trustees present included vice chair Wendy Becker, Amber Fox, Lisa Steppler and Verlin Steppler. Representatives were Nicole Simonsen, Mike Olson and Lora Finnicum. Visitors were recognized.

Reports were presented with no additions. Mrs. Corpron expressed thanks to Wendy Becker from the county extension office in sharing how honey is extracted and providing samples.

Golf and track stipends were approved to be the same as cross country with head coach at $3,300 and assistant coach at $2,200. Cheer was added to sports for additional post-season stipends.

A motion was approved to hire Ken Harrison from Armory cleaning at $62.50 per week.

A bid was approved for Bus Route #3 for Larry Birch to extend his bus contract for one year at $5.75 per mile and a motion was approved for a fall drivers’ education course with Dave Solem as instructor.

Perla Burciaga was approved from hire as assistant junior high/elementary track coach.

During public comment, questions were raised about whether baseball program activities should be board approved.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m.
