Indians Drop Match To Scobey


The Poplar Indians lost at home against a strong Scobey volleyball squad by a 5-25, 12-25, 11-25, final on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
After losing the first set, the Indians took a 3-1 lead in the second set. A hit by Jayda Falcon was good for one of the hits.
A kill by Sophia Crawford kept Poplar even at 5-5, but Scobey gained a 14-6 advantage.
With Scobey up 18-8, the Indians scored on a kill by Lilliana O’Neal. Another kill by O’Neal was a highlight for the Indians with the score at 21-10.
The Spartans went on to win the second set by a 25-12 margin.
The serving of Avery Wolfe and net play of Cambrie Holum put Scobey ahead 17-7 in the third set. An ace by Chloe Handran and a kill by Maddy Thompson increased the gap to 20-7.
Poplar scored on aces by Falcon and Tori Dimas down the stretch before losing by the 11-25 final.
