Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 60 calls from June 30 to July 7.

The calls included the following: June 30

Deputy/coroner responded to a residence in Wolf Point where a man had died from natural causes.

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department and Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice at the Roosevelt County Library in Wolf Point regarding a female who passed out at a computer. FPTDLJ arrested her and transported her to adult jail in Poplar.

July 1

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a report in the Poplar airport addition of an attack with a knife involved. A couple was removed from the residence and taken to Fort Kipp.

July 2

Deputies received a complaint regarding an adult male who failed to register as a violent offender. The report was given to Fort Peck Tribal Court.

Deputies responded to a hit and run accident at Smokey’s Bar in Bainville. The reporting party said someone drove into her vehicle and left white paint on their vehicle. Deputies will review the security camera.

July 4

Deputies responded to Culbertson for a report of a violation of a protective order regarding a couple. One of the individuals has a probation officer. Deputies told the couple to stop contacting each other.

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to Fort Kipp for a report of a partner/family member assault. Law enforcement couldn’t find either party.

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department with a report of a stolen debit card at Dad’s Bar. April Bearcub, 37, was arrested.

July 5

Deputies received a report that a suspicious person was parked in a gravel road near Poplar. The person had a rifle on the hood of his vehicle. The individual had no warrants. After being talked to, he left the area.

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to Tande Grocery in Poplar for a report of a female stealing beer. She was arrested.

July 6

Deputies received a complaint of man driving recklessly on U.S. Highway 2 near Bainville. The driver received a written warning for traffic violations.

July 7

Deputies received a report of a suspicious person walking around in a neighborhood in Fort Kipp. Deputies told him that the community was watching him. He then left the area.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, 10; Wolf Point rural, one; Poplar city limits, three; Poplar rural, three; Poplar FPHA all other, one; Culbertson town, 10; Culbertson rural, 13; Bainville town, two; Bainville rural, three; Brockton, rural, two; Fort Kipp, 12; total, 60.
