Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 117 calls from May 26 to June 2.

The calls included the following: May 27

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice in Poplar for a report of partner/family member assault. A female claimed her boyfriend broke her TV during an argument. FPTDLJ placed a male under arrest.

May 28

Deputies went to the hospital in Poplar for a report of a disturbance to the hospital staff. Delano Longtree, 54, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Deputies and FPTDLJ received a report from Poplar that residents heard many gunshots fired near the water tower. FPTDLJ placed one male in handcuffs. Law enforcement found shell casings and a knife on the street.

Deputies received a report of a theft in Poplar’s tribal housing. An adult female claimed some suspects broke into her house and stole all the contents from her refrigerator. The case remains under investigation.

May 29

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ after an adult female said a male was sneaking into her residence by using a back window. She was told to seek a restraining order.

Deputies served a warrant out of district court to Marlee Ann-Louise Schmitz of Bainville.

Deputies received a theft report in Froid regarding 10 bags of potting soil valued at $300. The incident remains under investigation.

Deputies received a report of an assault in Poplar. An adult male said he was slapped by a female and had his glasses broken.

May 30

Deputies, Wolf Point Police Department and FPTDLJ responded to a fight at Town Pump in Wolf Point. Officers used pepper spray to stop the fight between two females. Both females were transported to the hospital after being put under arrest by FPTDLJ.

May 31

Deputies and WPPD responded to a fight on Main Street. City police detained an adult female.

Deputies received a claim from a female in Poplar that she was assaulted by her brother. Both the brother and mother said the female wasn’t attacked, but she was intoxicated.

June 1

Deputies received a request from an adult female in Poplar to have an intoxicated male removed from a house. He was transported to another location.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, six; Poplar city limits, 34; Poplar rural, 13; Poplar FPHA all other, five; Poplar FPHA airport addition, one; Culbertson town, four; Culbertson rural, 15; Bainville town, four; Bainville rural, five; Froid town, one; Froid rural, one; any other area, one; Brockton town, nine; Brockton rural, six; Fort Kipp, 12; total, 123.
