Lustre Runs To District 3C Track Title


The Lustre Lions dominated the District 3C track meet by scoring 330 points in the boys’ division to secure top honors.
Scobey placed second with 173 points and Circle took third with 144 points.
In the girls’ division, Circle ran away with the title by scoring 314 points. Scobey was second at 262 and Saco took third at 124. Lustre placed sixth with 68 points.
Leading Lustre’s boys was Johnslee Pierre with victories in the triple jump at 44-07, long jump at 22-01, 110-meter hurdles at 16.79 and 300-meter hurdles at 41.34 seconds.
Prestyn Klatt was a triple winner with top honors in the 800 at 2:10.94, 1600 at 5:02.15 and 3200 at 10:35.23.
The 1600-meter relay team of KJ Brown, Diek Olfert, Byron Ewing and Pierre finished first with a time of 3:43.59.
Placing second for the Lions were KJ Brown in the 200 at 12.62, Ewing in the 200 at 25.69 and in the 400 at 55.7, Mason Hilkemann in the shot put at 38-10, Olfert in the long jump at 19-0 and the 400-meter relay team of Yoseph Lee, Kayden Charette, Brown and Ewing with a time of 48.7 seconds.
Taking third were Olfert at 37-04 in the triple jump and 2:16.55 in the 800, Hilkemann at 119-08 in the discus and Brown at 25.86 in the 200 and 58.10 in the 400.
Charette cleared 5-2 for fourth place in the high jump. Jacob Rigby placed fifth in the triple jump at 35-06. Charette took sixth in the 300-meter hurdles at 55.44 seconds.
Taking seventh were Lee at 27.55 in the 200 and Chris Traeholt at 16-10 in the long jump. Rigby finished eighth in the 200 at 28.43 seconds.
Highlights for Lustre’s girls included Sidney Klatt finishing third in the 1600 at 6:30.20 and third in the 3200 at 13:56.19.
Lauryn Holzrichter placed fourth in the triple jump at 29-04, fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 19.67 seconds, sixth in the 300-meter hurdles at 55.91 seconds and seventh in the long jump at 13-0.
Justice Byers placed fifth in the 800 at 2:59.92 and eighth in the 400 at 1:11.94.
Holly Hilkemann took sixth in the triple jump at 27-04, seventh in the 1600 at 8:23.98 and eighth in the long jump at 11-09.
Rachel Pew took seventh in the discus at 78-09 and Meredith Valentine was eighth in the discus at 74-10.
Both of Lustre’s girls’ relay teams finished in third place. The 400-meter relay consisting of Jaden Gibson, Pew, Klatt and Byers posted a time of 1:01.52. The 1600-meter relay team of Holzrichter, Hilkemann, Klatt and Byers had a time of 5:03.02.
