Wolf Point High School senior Quiarrah Rios has enjoyed her various roles at the school whether it was singing for the swing choir, being a football team manager or earning honors with the speech and drama program.

Rios served as football manager for three years, and she said it was the activity that she cared for the most.

“All the boys are my brothers in a sense,” Rios said of the football team. “We are a family.”

She competed for two years with Wolf Point’s speech and drama program. As a junior, she teamed up with Del Eymard in dramatic theater to earn fourth place at the state competition.

“It was amazing,” Rios said of the experience with Eymard. “He’s my best friend. He gave me the energy to go through the season.”

Her soprano voice has been a positive element for the school’s swing choir during the past four years. Highlights of the program for her have included spring tours to Chicago, Kansas City and Spokane, Wash.

Rios said her favorite class is yearbook. She explains she likes working with the yearbook team and taking photographs.

Her favorite teacher is Karli McGowan. “She’s easy to talk to and she’s funny. She helps whenever she can,” Rios explained.

She jokes that the best thing about being part of triplets is surprising people about it.

What Rios likes about Wolf Point is that everybody knows everybody in a small community.

“It’s comfort,” she said. After high school, she will leave to serve for the Montana National Guard in July. She then will study criminal justice. Career paths might include being a detective or becoming fully active in the Army.
