The Wolf Point Babe Ruth and American Legion program capped its season with an awards ceremony and meal on Sunday, July 30.

Coach Scott Vandall noted that the Babe Ruth season featured a lot of learning for the young ballplayers.

“We tried to keep putting in the work and the time,” Vandall said.

He was pleased that Carlos Weiser was selected to the All-Star team.

Coach Ray Ostby wished the Legion team had more games, but there were some cancellations during the season. He was pleased with the improved play as the season went.

Winning most improved awards were Casey Babb for Babe Ruth and Colt Leonard for Legion.

The Pete Rose award went to players who displayed hustle and determination. DeShaun Jackson received the Babe Ruth honor. Griffin Azure won the Legion award.

The Mr. Dirty award went to players who had dirty uniforms because of hard play. Azure was selected the Babe Ruth winner. Logan Brown earned the Legion honor.

Most inspirational awards went to Joey Blount for Babe Ruth and Landon Young for Legion.

The Mr. Rubber Arm honor was awarded to pitchers who threw for a lot of innings. Weiser won the Babe Ruth award and Trevin Boysin received the legion honor.

It was announced that through the work of Ostby securing donations that the field will have a new 20-foot scoreboard next season.
