Bainville Girls Capture Third During Fairview Track Meet

 

The Bainville Bulldogs finished with 65 points in the girls’ division for third place and scored 26 points in the boys’ division at the Fairview Invitational on Thursday, May 4.

Hailey Berwick ran to firstplace honors in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.15 seconds. The freshman also placed fourth in the 200 (28.1) and third in the long jump (15-6).

Elsie Wilson finished first in the 300-meter hurdles at 52.35 seconds and third in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.57 seconds. The sophomore earned third place in the high jump by clearing 4-6.

Miah Pippenger placed third in the javelin at 90-6 and fourth in the shot put with a best of 30-6.

Addison Hansen earned fourth in the discus with a best of 89-6 and Lila Butikofer took fifth in the event at 89-4.

CoraMay Theige finished fourth in the 3200 at 17:28.14.

Siena Martinez took fifth in the 300-meter hurdles at 1:01.56 and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles at 20.82 seconds. Also in the top 10 for Bainville’s girls were Berwick at eighth in the 100 and Theige at seventh in the 1600.

In the boys’ division, Charles Butikofer cleared 5-10 in the high jump for second place and had a mark of 136-3 in the javelin for fourth place.

Samuel Butikofer cleared 5-8 for fourth place in the high jump.

Also earning fourth were Ayden Knudsen with a time of 2:18.76 in the 800 and Carter Winn with a time of 51.11 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles.

Bainville’s 1600-meter relay team of Winn, C. Butikofer, Knudsen and Reese Harmon finished fifth at 4:00.41.

Also in the top 10 for the Bulldogs were Drae Nelson at eighth for the 3200, Kaiden Holmes at eighth for the 800 and 10th for the 400, Harmon at 10th in the 1600, C. Butikofer at ninth in the long jump and Logan Josephson at 10th in the shot put. The 1600-meter relay team of S. Butikofer, Holmes, Nelson and Rowan Wilson was seventh.
