Wastewater Project To Enter Phase One In May

 

The Wolf Point City Council held their regular meeting Monday, April 17.

Greg Lukasik with Great West Engineering said construction on Phase 1 of the wastewater system improvements, including “open cut” improvements on city streets, will begin May 1. Phase 2 is still in the grant phase.

Clerk Jhona Peterson said discussions are ongoing regarding the possibility of policy language updates to allow residents who have broken previous payment agreements to reapply. A motion was passed approving the standard parks maintenance contract. A building permit application was filed for a walkway railing at an area church.

The Wolf Point Police Department’s monthly activity report was submitted and reviewed.

A resolution was passed to approve the BARRSA 2023 allocation of $72,678.65. A resolution was passed to consolidate town lots. For a map of the area, contact Mayor Chris Dschaak.

The planning board committee met to discuss the NeighborWorks Homebuyer Program, which they recommended to the council. The council passed a motion approving participation in the program.

Council member Dean Mahlum told said the urban renewal committee met and considered Bill Juve’s purchase proposal. The committee recommended the council proceed with Juve’s proposal as written. No action was taken.

A motion was made to hire Sam Flansberg for one of two open solid waste positions effective June 1. See the advertisement for the other open solid waste position inside this newspaper. Wade Hansen’s last day with the city following a brief trial period was April 3. George Lash’s last day was March 30.

Peterson submitted monthly activity reports including revenue and expense, treasure’s cash and securities. All water approved by the council.

The next council meeting is set for May 15 at 7 p.m.
