“Don’t be afraid of change.”

That was the message from the Montana Lions Club second vice president district governor to his fellow Lions members last week. District Gov. Raleigh Peck from Sidney stopped by to visit the Wolf Point Lions Club during their weekly public meeting.

“We need to change in order to bring in young new members to the Lions Club,” Peck urged.

He encouraged Lions members to establish a presence online through social media and to find new ways to draw younger people to the club, including different meeting times and locations, as well as meet-and-greet events.

The district governor also took time during his visit to present pins and letters of commendation to a number of Wolf Point Lions members for their years of service. Two Lions members present at the meeting, Dennis Heser and Jerald Petersen, were honored in person by Peck.

In all, 12 Wolf Point Lions members were recognized during the meeting. Those who received their 10-yearsof- service pins were: Randy Boysun, Michelle Johnson, Scott Nasner, Aaron Kurokawa, Gene Loendorf and Larry Corns. Three Lions members presented with their 15-year pins, included: Dennis Heser, Steve Berge and Carolyn Rees.

Two 20-year pins were awarded to Ted Rensvold and James Johnson.

The lone pin given for 30-years-of-service was awarded to Jerald Petersen.
