Indians Outscore Harlem, 82-47

 

Poplar’s boys’ basketball team routed Harlem, 82-47, at the District 2B tournament to qualify for the divisional tournament.

The Indians jumped out to a 16-7 advantage in the first quarter. Delray Lilley scored eight points and hit two three-pointers in the period.

Poplar scored 19 points in the second quarter and held a 35-29 half-time lead.

The Indians ran off 20 points in the third period to grab a 55-41 advantage. Allen Russell scored eight points in the quarter.

Poplar then exploded for 27 points in the final period. Geordy Medicine Cloud connected on four three-pointers and had 14 points in the quarter.

Reaching double figures for Poplar were Medicine Cloud with 17, Lilley with 15, Russell with 15, Kaniel Ricker with 13 and William Youngman with 10 points.

Also scoring were Walker Burshia with six, Cetan Growning Thunder with four and Preston Ogle with two points. The Indians hit 13 three-pointers in the victory.

Leading Harlem were Cody McCade with 15 and Matt Billmayer with 13 points.
