Red Hawks Down MonDak

The Froid/Lake boys’ basketball team knocked off MonDak, 66-33, at home on Saturday, Jan. 28.

The Red Hawks jumped out a 15-4 advantage during the first quarter of play. Mason Dethman and Patton Bighorn each hit two three-pointers in the quarter.

Froid/Lake then erupted for 25 points in the second period for 40-18 half-time lead. Dethman had 10 points including two three-pointers in the quarter. Adding three-pointers were Joey Boyd and Bighorn.

Landen Kelm connected on two three-pointers in the third quarter as the Red Hawks increased their lead to 54-28.

Top scorers for the Red Hawks with Dethman with 19 and Bighorn with 16 points.

Also scoring were Max Engelke with seven, L. Kelm with six, Boyd with five, Daniel Forizs with four, Nate Stentoft with four, Robert Orozco with three and Caden Kelm with two points.

Leading MonDak were Adam Paine with 12 and Graham Wright with nine points.

The Red Hawks will host Poplar on Friday, Feb. 3, and head to Plentywood on Saturday, Feb. 4.
