Lustre Splits Contests Against Nashua

 

Lustre Christian knocked off Nashua, 75-35, in conference boys’ basketball action on Thursday, Jan. 19.

Ahead by a 14-7 margin at the end of the first quarter, the Lions scored 23 points in the second quarter for a 37-13 advantage.

Lustre added 18 more points in the third quarter for a 55-23 margin.

Reaching double figures for Lustre were Elijah Lenihan with 17, Braden Ewing with 14, Jasiah Hambira with 12 and Cayden Klatt with 10 points.

Also scoring were Byron Ewing with six, Bryan Chen with six, Johnslee Pierre with four, Cam Reddig with two, Prestyn Klatt with two and Clay Reddig with two points.

Nashua’s top scorers were Grady Nielsen with 14 and Xander Pugh with nine points.

Nashua’s girls edged Lustre by a 48-33 margin.

The first half was tight as Nashua led 9-8 at the end of the first quarter and 20-15 at intermission.

Nashua increased its advantage to 33-24 in the third quarter.

Alexa Reddig accounted for 15 of Lustre’s points. Grace Brown and Hannah Brown added five points each. Scoring two points each were Abby Olfert, Aubri Holzricther, Lauryn Holzrichter and Hope Marottek.

Leading Nashua were Tia Dees and Guinevere Abern with 14 points each.
